Our Approach

Jaipur International Airport Limited (JIAL) integrates sustainability into its operations and decision-making. A dedicated Environment and Sustainability Department, supported by cross-functional teams, oversees the implementation of the ESG strategy. The strategy focuses on environmental responsibility, social impact, and long- term value through a strong governance framework, reinforcing JIAL’s commitment to sustainability.

Sustainability Stories

Climate Change

JIAL is integrating climate action into its sustainability efforts. Our carbon reduction targets align with India’s goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2070 and the Paris Agreement’s aim to limit global warming to below 2°C, while striving towards the 1.5°C threshold. This commitment has already delivered tangible results: in FY 2024-25, JIAL saved 1663 tonnes of CO2 through various energy and carbon emission saving initiatives.

Waste Management

JIAL’s waste management strategy is guided by our comprehensive Waste Management Policy and is centered on the 5R principles: Reduce, Reuse, Reprocess, Recycle, and Recover. Waste is managed through five stages at a dedicated Material Recovery Facility, ensuring compliance with national regulations. With a strong focus on waste minimization and sustainability, JIAL successfully achieved the Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) recognition from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in FY 2024–25 by diverting 99.9% of waste from the landfills.

Fleet Decarbonization

JIAL is actively transforming airport mobility by accelerating the shift to eco-friendly transportation. As part of this commitment, JIAL successfully transitioned 18 fossil fuel- based vehicles to Electric Vehicles (EVs) during FY 2025. To support this transition, JIAL has also installed four EV charging stations across the premises.

Water Stewardship

Water Stewardship is a core pillar of JIAL’s sustainability strategy. We recognize the critical need for water conservation and sustainable management. To achieve this, we proactively identify water-related risks, optimize usage, and reduce reliance on surface water. Our long-term goal is to achieve water positivity by implementing best-in-class industry practices.

More than just meeting compliance requirements, JIAL cultivates a robust safety culture that nurtures both personal and professional development.

Community Engagement

JIAL, in collaboration with the Adani Foundation, actively engages in community development initiatives aimed at creating long-term, sustainable impact. In FY 2025, JIAL organized free eye screening and spectacle distribution camps in local schools in the community nearby, where 2,036 children were screened, and 262 spectacles were distributed. JIAL also partnered with the district police administration for the 'ROKO - TOKO' campaign to raise awareness about road safety significance and distributed crash helmets to community members.

Awards & Recognition

  • JIAL received the Zero Waste to Landfill (ZWL) recognition from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in FY 2024–25 by diverting 99.9% waste from landfill.
  • The airport was accorded the Platinum Award in the “16th EXCEED Green Future Award 2024”, a unit of EK KAAM DESH KE NAAM, under the sustainability category.
  • The airport has also received GEM 5 level certificatied sustainable building award under Platinum category instituted by ASSOCHAM in GEM international Sustainability Conclave and Expo.
  • Level-3 accreditation achieved for ACI Airport Customer Experience.​
